MICROSURGERY
Microsurgery is the most highly specialized area of plastic and reconstructive surgery, requiring surgeons to operate on delicate blood vessels, nerves, and tissue using advanced magnification and highly precise techniques.
These techniques make it possible to transfer a patient's own tissue from one area of the body to another while reconnecting tiny blood vessels to restore circulation - opening possibilities for sophisticated reconstruction following cancer, trauma, and other complex conditions. This includes advanced procedures such as DIEP flap breast reconstruction, which uses a patient's own abdominal tissue to reconstruct the breast while preserving the abdominal muscles.
Dr. Andrade completed specialized fellowship training in oncoplastic microsurgical breast reconstruction, including DIEP flap procedures, and applies this expertise to some of the practice's most complex reconstructive cases.
RECONSTRUCTIVE SURGERY
Reconstructive plastic surgery addresses areas of the body affected by cancer, trauma, congenital conditions, disease, or previous surgery.
Dr. Andrade approaches reconstruction with both functional and aesthetic considerations in mind. Using advanced reconstructive and microsurgical techniques, when appropriate, he develops an individualized plan designed to restore anatomy, function, and natural proportion.
BREAST RECONSTRUCTION
There is no single right approach to breast reconstruction.
With specialized fellowship training in oncoplastic microsurgical breast reconstruction, Dr. Andrade works with patients following breast cancer treatment and mastectomy to determine the reconstructive approach best suited to their anatomy, treatment history, health, and personal priorities.
Options may include implant-based reconstruction, as well as advanced microsurgical techniques, using a patient's own tissue.
The objective is not simply reconstruction. It is helping each patient understand their options and creating a surgical plan designed specifically for them.

Dr. Andrade approaches cosmetic surgery of the face, breast, and body with an emphasis on anatomy, proportion, and natural-looking results.
